Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to common questions about Pactvera, including account setup, document signing, security, legal validity, and more. Learn how Pactvera ensures trusted, secure, and legally compliant digital signatures.

Why do I need to download ChainIT ID to sign a Pactvera document?

To ensure each agreement is tied to a real, verified person, Pactvera uses ChainIT ID for account creation, identity verification, and signing. This approach reflects ChainIT’s commitment to "Truth Over Trust"—we don't just trust who you are, we verify it.

Is there a cost to create a ChainIT ID account?

Yes, there is a one-time fee of $11.99 USD for individuals to create a ChainIT ID account. This covers identity verification and secure onboarding.

However, many document senders or businesses may provide you with a promo code to cover this cost, allowing you to onboard at no charge.

What is included in the $11.99 signup fee?

The fee includes:

  • Verified identity onboarding using government-issued ID or passport

  • Biometric binding for secure, fraud-resistant signature activity

  • Lifetime access to your ChainIT ID for future agreements and verifications across supported platforms

This process ensures each signature is part of “a digital agreement of truth.”

Why do I have to provide an ID or passport during onboarding?

Pactvera uses comprehensive identity document verification and to link every digital signature to a real, verified person. You’ll be asked to upload a government-issued ID or passport and complete a brief biometric check. This protects all parties involved and elevates document validity beyond traditional e-signatures.

Do I need to repeat identity verification for each document I sign?

No. Once your ChainIT ID is created and verified, you can use it across all supported platforms—including Pactvera—without repeating the ID process. Your identity is securely anchored to your digital actions.

What types of documents can I sign with Pactvera?

You can sign a wide range of documents including contracts, agreements, certifications, NDAs, employment documents, and more.

Do signatures on Pactvera hold legal value?

Yes. Pactvera signatures are compliant with electronic signature laws, including ESIGN (U.S.).  Every signature is time-stamped and securely linked to the signer's verified identity.

What happens after I sign a document?

Once signed, you and any other parties receive a final, tamper-evident copy of the document. It includes a full audit trail showing who signed and when. This version is stored securely in your account, under My Collection > My Signed Docs.

What if I signed the wrong document or made a mistake?

If a document was signed in error, you can contact the requester to void or revise the agreement, depending on the stage of the workflow. Pactvera maintains full versioning and audit logs to track all updates.
