How to Back Up Your Wallet to Google Drive or OneDrive (Recommended)

Follow these steps to back up your ChainIT ID wallet to Google Drive or OneDrive for easier recovery. Recommended for secure, cloud-based access when changing devices.

We generally recommend backing up your wallet recovery key to Google Drive or OneDrive for easier recovery.

While we offer an email backup option to give you full control over the storage location of your data, cloud-based backups are quicker to reconnect when switching devices or reinstalling the app.

✅ Steps to Set Up a Cloud Backup:

  1. Open the ChainIT ID app.

  2. On the home screen, click on the red banner that says "Secure your data! Backup your wallet recovery key now!"

    1. If you don't see the banner, tap the profile button ( ) in the bottom-right corner of the screen, select Wallet Recovery, then tap Add New Recovery.

  3. Choose Google Drive or OneDrive, then tap Continue.

  4. Follow the prompts to connect your Google or Microsoft account.

  5. Once complete, you’ll see the new backup option listed in your Wallet Recovery methods.
