How to Invite a Customer for KYC
This guide explains how to invite, verify, and review individual (KYC) customers in the ChainIT Platform, including how to add optional verification add-ons and how to view the results once onboarding is complete.
How to Invite an Individual for KYC
1. Navigate to the KYC Product Line
From your ChainIT Dashboard, go to KYC and select Customers.
2. Click “Add Customer”
Select Add Customer to start a new individual onboarding.
3. Enter the Customer’s Basic Information
Enter the customer’s email address.
If the individual already has a verified ChainIT ID, they will be invited to connect and share their existing verified details with you.
If the individual is new to ChainIT, they will be invited to create an account and complete verification.
4. Required Verifications (Always Performed)
The following checks are always included as part of individual onboarding and do not need to be selected separately:
-
Identity verification to government ID (Driver's License or ID Card).
-
OFAC sanctions screening.
-
Sex Offender Registry check.
These checks ensure a consistent baseline for KYC and cannot be disabled.
5. Select Additional Add-Ons (Optional)
You may include optional verification services that run automatically after identity verification, such as:
-
PEP screening.
-
SSN verification.
-
Criminal background checks.
Once processing begins, selected add-ons appear in the customer’s profile with their respective statuses and results.
6. Attachments (Optional)
You will see an Attachments section during setup.
Attachments are provided for informational or reference purposes only. The individual can view these materials, but they are not required to interact with or complete anything within the attachment itself. Attachments do not collect signatures, inputs, or attestations.
7. Attach a Pactvera (Optional)
You can attach a Pactvera to the KYC invitation to collect signatures, disclosures, or attestations as part of onboarding.
There are two ways to attach a Pactvera:
-
Add Pactvera – Create a new Pactvera for this onboarding.
-
Select Template – Choose from an existing Pactvera template you’ve already configured.
After selecting one of these options:
-
The individual is automatically added as the primary signer.
-
You may customize instructions or message text.
-
Click Attach to link the Pactvera to the KYC request.
Once sent, attached Pactveras:
-
Appear in the customer’s KYC profile under the Pactvera section.
-
Sync with your Pactvera Outbox for status tracking.
This is commonly used for consent forms, disclosures, or required attestations tied to identity verification.
8. Submit the Invitation
Review the details and click Submit.
The individual receives an email prompting them to complete verification through the ChainIT ID app.
What Happens Next
-
The individual completes identity verification.
-
Any attached Pactvera tasks are completed (if applicable).
-
Optional add-ons run automatically.
-
The customer’s status updates from Invited to In Progress, and then to Active once all required steps are completed.
You can manage invitations at any time from the Action Menu to resend, edit, or cancel.
Viewing Individual KYC Details
Once onboarding is complete, the KYC Customer Details page displays:
-
Verified identity attributes (name, date of birth, address, ID type).
-
Verification results and outcomes.
-
Results from any selected add-ons.
-
All Pactveras linked to the individual.
Each attached Pactvera includes audit-ready validation showing who completed it, what was signed or submitted, when it occurred, and where it was executed.
Summary
Inviting individuals for KYC through ChainIT ensures identity verification, compliance screening, and optional documentation are handled in a single, verifiable workflow. Required checks establish a consistent baseline, optional add-ons provide flexibility, and Pactveras enable enforceable agreements and attestations—each recorded as immutable proof.
