How to Move Your Account & Wallet to a New Device (Google Drive Backup)
Learn how to seamlessly transfer your ChainIT ID wallet and tokens to a new device by using Google Drive as the wallet backup
Step 1: Ensure Your Wallet Backup is Ready
- Verify that your wallet recovery key is backed up to your Google Drive account. This step occurs during the initial onboarding process.

- Make sure you have the correct Google Drive login details for the account that the recovery file is stored in.
Step 3: Setting Up on Your New Device
- On your new device, install and log in to Google Drive.
- Download and open the ChainIT ID app on your new device.
- Log in to ChainIT ID with your email address, password, and facial recognition.
- Go to Profile (tap the button on the bottom right).
Step 4: Syncing Your Wallet and Tokens on the New Device
- Tap Change PIN. You will see the message, “The file does not exist. You need to download the file to change PIN,” tap Download.
- The app will automatically retrieve the recovery key from your cloud storage provider.
- Once the download completes, look for the message, “Successfully Downloaded File.”
- Your ChainIT ID and any other tokens should now be synced with your new device.

File Retrieval Issues: Ensure you’re logged into the correct cloud storage account that contains your wallet backup. Double-check your internet connection if file download fails.
