Setting Up Verified Role-Based Authority

Verified role-based authority is now live in ChainIT. This allows organizations to assign roles to users so the right people can complete actions on behalf of the organization, with a traceable authority trail behind each action.

Prerequisites

Before setting up verified role-based authority, confirm that your organization has completed the required organization onboarding steps.

From the dashboard, check the following:

  1. Your UBO Verification status is Verified.
  2. In My Tasks, confirm whether the Org Onboarding Checklist has any remaining subtasks.

If the checklist has open subtasks, complete them before continuing.

To check for pending invitations or incomplete tasks, go to My Org ID > Governance & Ownership and review the Officers and Shareholders tabs.

If a user’s status is Invited, that person still has an outstanding invitation or task to complete. Verified role-based authority setup should be completed only after all required officers and UBOs have finished their verification and attestation steps.

How to Set Up Role-Based Authority

After signing in, eligible organization users will see a banner that says:

Your organization just got more powerful.
Verified role-based authority is now live. Assign roles to your users and let the right people act — with a full authority trail behind every action.

Click on Set Up Your Team to go to User Management.

Step 1: Assign Required Roles

In User Management, assign roles to the appropriate users in your organization.

At least one user must be assigned to each of the following roles:

Required Role Purpose
KYB Verifier Completes KYB-related verification tasks on behalf of the organization.
Pactvera Signer Reviews and signs Pactveras on behalf of the organization with legal authority.
Pactvera Admin Manages access and organization of agreements and templates, receives and assigns incoming Pactveras, and may cancel any Pactvera for the organization, but cannot send or sign Pactveras.
TCA Releaser Authorizes the release of funds or assets within a Pactvera transaction on behalf of the organization.
Pactvera Sender Creates and sends Pactveras within approved folders, may cancel Pactveras they created, and may create and use templates as needed, without signing or releasing value.

A user may have more than one role if that matches your organization’s internal responsibilities.

Step 2: Submit the Role Assignments for Approval

Once all required roles have been assigned, and all invited users have onboarded, click Submit for Approval.

This starts the authority approval process. The role assignments do not become active immediately after submission.

Step 3: Officer Approval

The highest-ranking officer(s) will receive a task to approve the organization’s role and group assignments.

One of the assigned officers must complete this task before users can begin acting on behalf of the organization under the assigned roles.

What Happens After Approval

After the approval task is completed, assigned users can begin completing actions on behalf of the organization based on their approved roles.

Each action is tied to verified authority, creating a traceable record of who acted, what role they acted under, and why they were allowed to complete the action.
