How to Create a ChainIT Organization ID
Follow these steps to create your Organization ID and begin organization onboarding.
How to Create a ChainIT Organization ID
Create your organization’s ChainIT account and complete the initial setup.
Before You Start
To get started, have the following organization information available:
- Legal organization name
- Tax ID Number
- Registered organization address
- Formation state
- Industry
- Website, if applicable
- Organization or work email address
Your legal organization name, Tax ID Number, registered organization address, and formation state must exactly match your organization’s Secretary of State or other official registration records.
If any of this information does not match, business verification may fail. You will need to correct the mismatched information and resubmit it before onboarding can continue.
You will also need to create or connect your individual ChainIT ID during the process. Have a government-issued photo ID available when possible. If a passport is the identity document you have available, you can use your passport.
Step 1: Start Organization Onboarding
If you received an invitation from ChainIT, open the link in your invitation email.
If you are starting without an invitation, go to the ChainIT organization onboarding site.
Review the authorization statement, Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy before continuing.

Step 2: Create Your Organization Profile
Enter the requested organization information carefully.
Make sure the legal organization name, Tax ID Number, registered organization address, and formation state match your official Secretary of State or other registration records exactly.

On this same page, you will also be asked:
“Are you the only person required to verify this organization’s ownership and authority?”
Choose the option that best describes your organization:
- Yes — choose this only if you are the sole owner and authorized representative.
- No or I’m not sure — choose this if other owners, officers, shareholders, members, managers, directors, or controlling parties may need to be included.
If you are unsure, choose No or I’m not sure. ChainIT will guide you through any additional people or information that need to be added.
Your answer helps determine which onboarding steps appear later. Organizations with a sole owner and authorized representative may have a shorter onboarding process, while other organizations may need to provide additional officer, ownership, governance, or authority information.

Step 3: Review Fees and Payment
Review the setup fee shown during onboarding and select an available payment method.
If you received a promo code, select "Promo Code," enter the code, and click Apply.

Follow the instructions to complete payment.
Step 4: Complete Business Verification
ChainIT will verify your organization information against authoritative business records.
This process may take a few minutes.
If verification is unsuccessful because information does not match official records, review the identified information, make any necessary corrections, and resubmit it for verification.

Step 5: Create or Connect Your ChainIT ID
After submitting your organization information, check your email for the next step.
If you do not already have a ChainIT ID, follow the prompts to download the ChainIT ID app and create your account.

Complete the identity verification steps shown in the app. Enter the promo code provided in the email when prompted.
For detailed instructions, see How to Create a ChainIT ID.
Step 6: Confirm Your Authority
After your identity is verified, you'll see a task on the home screen in ChainIT ID. This task will ask you to confirm that you are authorized to create the organization’s account.

Review the information carefully and complete the confirmation if everything is correct.
If the information is incorrect or you are not authorized to complete the task, select Reject and provide a reason.
Once the attestation is completed, select an option to continue by logging into the business portal from your desktop or mobile device. You'll also receive an email with a link to login to the portal to continue.
What Happens Next?
After your Organization ID is created, ChainIT will determine which additional onboarding steps apply to your organization.
Some organizations may have a shorter onboarding process. For example, an organization with a single authorized representative or an organization without any beneficial owners who meet the applicable ownership threshold may not need to complete every standard onboarding step.
Other organizations may be asked to provide additional information such as:
- Officer information
- Ownership information
- Governing documents
- Beneficial owner verification
- Corporate owner information
- Organization role assignments and approvals
The ChainIT portal will show the tasks that apply to your organization.
For details about these later steps, see Completing the Org Onboarding Checklist.

If business verification fails:
- Compare the information you entered with your Secretary of State or other official registration records.
- Correct any mismatched information.
- Resubmit the organization for verification.
