Beneficial Ownership Ledger

The Beneficial Ownership Ledger allows organizations and platform users to manage, view, and verify ownership data, including shareholders and controlling individuals. This is a critical part of KYB and compliance workflows.

Ownership Records & Ledger View
The default view lists submitted documents—typically membership or shareholder ledgers—along with the following details:

  • File Name
  • Submitted By
  • Type (e.g., Membership Ledger)
  • Date Submitted
  • Number of Validators
  • Verification Status (e.g., Verified)

You can toggle between table and card views, use filters for Documents / Officers / Shareholders.

Document Verification & Validators
Each record is validated by one or more individuals. Clicking on the file allows you to see:

  • List of Validators
  • Document-level metadata
  • Associated photos or biometrics
  • Downloadable document(s)

The document viewer is segmented into Where / When / Who / What dropdown selections, enabling deep audit visibility. Example fields include:

  • Device info & GPS location
  • Validator ID scan results
  • Minting transaction hash (if blockchain-backed)
  • Witness photos and timestamps

Verification levels may include visual authentication, ID scan, and blockchain minting (e.g., on Polygon).  For more details on touch audit see Organization Basic Information & Touch Audit

Sharing Ownership Files
You can securely share verified ledgers via email. Use the “Share” icon at the top right of the screen, select files, and input recipients.

Each shared record includes:

  • File name and validator metadata
  • Verification status
  • Time stamped evidence trail

Starting Beneficial Ownership Verification

To initiate a new verification process:

  • Click the “Start Beneficial Ownership Verification” button.
  • Upload ledger documents or input ownership details.
  • Assign validators and complete the submission.

Once submitted, each validator completes a confirmation step and the platform updates the verification status accordingly.  For a complete overview see Completing Ultimate Beneficial Ownership Verification
