Completing Organization Attestations
Learn how to complete attestations as a shareholder on ChainIT.
Learn how to complete an organization attestation in ChainIT when you are participating as an officer, owner, authorized representative, or Controlling Party.
During organization onboarding, ChainIT may ask certain people to review and confirm information about the organization. The exact attestation you receive depends on your relationship to the organization and its ownership and governance structure.
You only need to complete the tasks assigned to you.
Before You Begin
You may need:
- A ChainIT ID
- Access to the email address where your invitation or task was sent
- Any required identity verification completed
- Knowledge of the organization information you are being asked to confirm
How to Complete an Attestation
- Check your email or ChainIT ID for the assigned task.
- Open the task and complete any required authentication.
- Review the organization information carefully.
- Review the attestation or confirmation presented to you.
- If the information is correct, sign and submit the attestation.
- If something is incorrect, select Reject and provide a reason so the organization can review and correct the information.
If You Are an Owner
You may be asked to confirm information related to the organization’s ownership or the authority of its officers.
If you are an individual beneficial owner who meets the applicable ownership threshold, you may be asked to confirm that the listed officers are authorized to manage and act for the organization.
If another organization owns an interest in the organization being onboarded, an authorized representative of that organization may be asked to confirm the ownership relationship.
If You Are an Officer
You may be asked to review and confirm information about the organization or approve role assignments for people who will act on behalf of the organization in ChainIT.
Review the assigned users and roles carefully before completing the attestation.
If You Are a Controlling Party
If no individual meets the applicable beneficial ownership threshold, the organization may designate a Controlling Party.
A Controlling Party is an individual who exercises substantial control over the organization.
If you are designated as the Controlling Party, you may be asked to confirm your relationship to the organization and the authority of its officers or authorized representatives.
If You Are the Sole Owner and Authorized Representative
If you are the sole owner and authorized representative, you may receive a simplified confirmation that covers your ownership, relationship to the organization, and authority to complete setup.
You may not receive the same separate attestations that are used for organizations with multiple owners or officers.
What If the Information Is Incorrect?
Do not sign an attestation containing incorrect information.
Select Reject and provide a reason. The organization can then review and correct the information before the attestation is sent again.
What If I Do Not Receive a Task?
Not every officer, owner, or participant will receive an attestation.
ChainIT assigns tasks based on the organization’s structure and the information provided during onboarding. If no task appears for you, no action is required unless ChainIT or the organization asks you to complete an additional step.
